Dąbki for the weekend - a plan for two days on the Baltic Sea
How to spend a weekend in Dąbki: the beach, windsurfing on Lake Bukowo, a boat cruise, an evening stroll, and a trip to Darłowo. A complete two-day itinerary.
Two days in Dąbki is the perfect amount of time to soak up the atmosphere of this seaside resort—on one side, the Baltic Sea and its wide beach, and on the other, the tranquil Lake Bukowo with its windsurfing and marina. Here's how to plan a weekend to see the best of it.
Saturday - sea and lake
It's best to start the morning at the beach. The wide, sandy coastline, awarded a Blue Flag, is perfect for both swimming and long walks along the shore. In the afternoon, it's worth heading to the other side of the spit, to Lake Bukowo. This is where the heart of active recreation beats: you can take your first windsurfing lesson at one of the schools, or rent a kayak or SUP board at the Water Sports Center.
If you prefer a more leisurely pace, a small cruise ship operates on the lake during peak season—a cruise is a great way to see the area from the water. Reserve your evening for dinner at one of the fish and chip shops and a stroll along the promenade, ideally at sunset, as the sun sinks towards the sea.
Sunday - nature and surroundings
On the second day, it's worth venturing outside the town itself. Near Dąbki is the Słowińskie Błota Nature Reserve—a Baltic raised bog with a nature trail where you can experience the wild side of the coast. Families with children will appreciate the ropes course in the coastal forest by the lake.
To round off the weekend, we recommend a trip to Darłowo, about 10 km away. There you'll find the Gothic castle of the Pomeranian Dukes and a museum, and in Darłówek you'll find a fishing port, marinas, and a movable drawbridge over the Wieprza River.
Practical tips
- The best season for windsurfing is on windy days – check the forecast before you go.
- The most convenient way to reach Dąbki is by car; the nearest train station is in Sławno (approx. 30 km).
- The spa microclimate works all year round — off-season weekends bring silence, an empty beach, and lower accommodation prices.
Two days in Dąbki reveal the true charm of this place: the combination of the energy of the sea with the tranquility of the lake and forest. This is a weekend for active people, but also for those who simply want to relax.
